Company Background
Incorporated in 1990 as a joint venture project of the Royal Government of Bhutan, Marubeni Corporation of Japan and Tashi Commercial Corporation, company’s shares are also held by the Financial Institutions, Corporate bodies and the Public. The Company is listed with the Royal Securities Exchange of Bhutan.
The manufacturing facility with two Furnaces totaling 46.5MVA is at Pasakha, Bhutan; about 15 km from Phuntsholing town – where the company’s Corporate office is located.
Plant & Machinery and Process Technology
BFAL’s first furnace of 28.5MVA capacity was set up during October 1994. The main smelting furnace and its auxiliary equipment were procured from Elkem Technology, Norway, one of the leading manufacturers of furnace equipment in the world. The plant is being operated since 1995.
With the growing demand, the Company has augmented its capacity by setting up another furnace of 18MVA in the existing plant area during December 2006. The main smelting furnace and its auxiliary equipment has been procured from Vatvetd Technology, Norway one of the reputed companies in this field. The furnace is in operation since 2007.
The Outlook
BFAL has been in operation since 1995 in Ferro Alloy business offering its products both to the Indian and the international markets where the products are well accepted in terms of sustainable quality and timely delivery. The Company’s commitments to conduct its business responsibly and sustainably are well recognized across all customers.
